The Debt Payoff Planner

Every debt in one list, and the month you are finally free.

Put in what you owe, the rate and the minimum. Pick snowball or avalanche. The plan works out the order, the payoff date and what the interest is really costing you.

Why we made it

Debt is not hard because the maths is hard.

It is hard because the numbers live in four different apps, three statements and one envelope you have not opened. Nobody can make a plan out of that, so most people pay a bit here and a bit there and hope.

Put every balance in one list and something changes. You can see which one to kill first, what the interest is quietly costing, and the actual month it ends. That date is the thing that keeps people going.

Inside the tool

A plan you can check by hand

Every number comes from what you typed. Change a rate or add ten dollars a month and everything moves with it.

Overview

What you owe, what you pay each month, the month you are free and the interest still to come. If your payment does not cover the interest, it says so plainly instead of drawing a pretty chart.

  • Debt free date
  • Interest to come

Payoff plan

Snowball, avalanche or your own order. You get the order to attack them in, the month each one clears, and the interest each will cost. Print it and stick it on the fridge.

What the extra does

Add an extra amount each month and the tool shows both plans side by side: how many months you save and how much less interest you pay. Honest arithmetic, no promises.

Progress

Log each payment as you make it. The balance comes down, the plan updates, and cleared debts get marked. Deleting a payment puts it back, so the numbers stay true.

Honestly

Who it is for, and who it is not

Made for you if:

  • You have more than one debt and no single view of them
  • You want a real date, not a vague feeling
  • You want to see what paying extra actually buys you
  • You would rather keep your numbers off a company server

Give it a miss if:

  • You have one debt and a clear plan already
  • You want the tool to log into your bank for you
  • You are looking for advice on borrowing or refinancing

Your data

It never leaves your device

There is no account, no login and no server. Everything you type is kept by your own browser, on the machine you typed it on. We cannot see it, because it never reaches us.

Save a backup file whenever you like and load it on another device or after a reinstall. That file is plain readable text, so you are never locked in.

Questions

Frequently asked

Snowball or avalanche, which should I pick?

Avalanche costs less because it kills the highest rate first. Snowball clears a whole debt sooner, which keeps most people going. The tool shows both, so pick the one you will actually stick to.

Does it connect to my bank?

No, on purpose. You type the balances in. That takes ten minutes once, and nothing about your accounts ever leaves your device.

What if my payment does not cover the interest?

The tool says so, in plain language, and tells you the interest figure you need to get above. It will not draw a payoff date that cannot happen.

Can I use it for a mortgage or a car loan?

Yes. Anything with a balance, a rate and a monthly payment fits, up to 40 debts.

Is it really one payment?

Yes. $14.99 once, the file is yours, and updates to this tool are free.

Put them all in one list tonight.
